New Digital Database of Greek Dramatic Meters Released by WashU Classics and Humanities Digital Workshop

The John and Penelope Biggs Department of Classics and Arts & Sciences’ Humanities Digital Workshop are pleased to announce the publication online of “Meters of Greek Drama,” a database that records, displays, and allows statistical analyses of all meters of Euripides’ Elektra, Hekabe, and Orestes. The database is the work of Principal Investigator Tim Moore, John and Penelope Biggs Distinguished Professor of Classics; staff of the Humanities Digital Workshop, led by Douglas Knox; numerous WashU graduate and undergraduate interns; and other advisors and assistants. An earlier version of the database is discussed in Jennifer McLish and Timothy J. Moore, “Towards an Online Database of Ancient Dramatic Meters,” Futuro Classico 7 (2021).
