Sam is working toward an M.A. in classics at Washington University in St. Louis and a M.Div. at Concordia Seminary St. Louis. He received his B.A. with a double major in Applied Theology and Theological Languages from Concordia University Wisconsin and completed a minor in Military Science at Marquette University. He recently self-published an intermediate reader of Xenophon's Apology of Socrates with facing vocabulary and grammatical commentary. Sam especially enjoys studying military history and late Roman republican history, as well as early Christian interaction with ancient philosophy. 
 
In his free time, Sam enjoys reading, lifting weights, studying languages, and mixed martial arts.
