Eugenia’s journey in Classics is all about passion(s): her research focuses primarily on how emotion shapes Sophocles’ tragic plots. Her interest in ancient emotions began at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina, where she completed her Licenciatura in 2020. After pursuing a master’s degree in Languages and Cultures of Antiquity at the Universitat de Barcelona, she came to WashU to dive deeper and wider into Classics.

Beyond her research, Eugenia enjoys discovering and teaching a variety of aspects of Greek and Roman language, literature, and culture. She also loves talking to fellow students about navigating graduate life and is now a peer mentor at WashU’s Transdisciplinary Mentoring Community.
